Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition of Luohu District, Shenzhen, Oxford Division sponsored by Luohu District Government and organized by CRI and Oxford University ended in success on May 14, 2017.

Nine innovation teams and startups from Oxford, London, Manchester and Leeds entered the competition and the entries covered biomaterials, nanomaterials, intelligent manufacturing and AI, among other sectors. The panel of judges included Professor Bill Roscoe from the Department of Computer, Oxford University, and members of CRI, Kotler Marketing Group and Oxchains FinTech Co., Ltd. Nine entries were assessed in terms of technical sophistication, maturity, competitiveness, market prospect and team mix.

The crown was won by the cartilage and peripheral nerve regenerative stent team from Oxford University. The visible light photo-curable dendritic material for 3d printing team from Leeds won the second place and the new titanium dioxide nanosphere material team from The University of Manchester won the third place.

The competition drew extensive attention from Oxford University and its students, and was widely covered by Nouvelles d'Europe , BBC and Oxford Innovation Center. CRI built its Oxford Innovation Center on the success of this event, which has become another essential pole of its global network based in Europe following Boston Innovation Center. It is going to draw upon the international influence of Oxford University on academics, innovations and culture, emerge as a bridgehead of the innovation resources network in Europe, and provide CRI with sustainable innovation resources and opportunities to seek technical cooperation, industrial transition and investment with industrial players in China.
